About Us

Welcome to Harbour Vista Bed and Breakfast. Situated in a peaceful cul-de-sac with harbour views you'll find your home away from home. Enjoy a relaxing stay in the warm and friendly company of your hosts Gina and Peter Sisson.

Location

Situated in the suburb of Karori you'll find yourself just eight to ten minutes from Wellington's city centre and ferry terminal, twenty minutes from the airport and within walking distance to the local shopping centre where you'll find three handy bus routes in to the city.

Close to the idyllic Karori Wildlife Sanctuary, Otari Native Reserve and the Wellington Botanical Gardens, as well as Wellington's Cable Car, and the stadium. Wellington city is home to all things cultural so enjoy its nightlife, theatres, ballet or musical concerts and cinemas.

Your Hosts

Your hosts Gina and Peter, originally from Germany and England, fell in love with New Zealand on a visit over thirty years ago and are proud to call Wellington their home. As seasoned world travellers, they love receiving visitors from all corners of the world and showing them the beauty that lies within the capital city. Gina also speaks fluent German.

Arrangements can be made to pick you up from the bus, ferry, train or air terminals if you let us know in advance.

Getting here

From Highway 1 (Kapiti Coast) or 2 (Wairarapa)

• On Highway 1 and 2 southbound, merge on to the Motorway, ignore the City Centre exit, take the Hawkestone St and Karori off ramp, and follow the signs to Karori (approx 3 kms). You will pass the Botanical Garden, go up the hill through the Karori Tunnel, and carry on along the main road up another hill and past the Karori Shopping Mall.
• Take the first left after the BP Petrol Station on to Monaghan Avenue.
• Follow this road up the hill, and turn right on to Paparata Street. Follow this up and around to the left which becomes Kilsyth Street.
• Continue along this road and we are near the end of the cul-de-sac with plenty of parking outside.

From the airport:

• Follow the signs to Wellington City. Once in the city Karori is clearly signposted.
• After the Karori tunnel follow the directions above.

Airport 20 minutes

Wellington City Centre 8-10 minutes

Interisland Ferry Terminal 8-10 minutes
